CTS-Ipea researcher featured on Forum of Federations podcast

Luis Kubota spoke to ForumFedCast about how Brazil has advanced in the digitalization of public services and the role of coordination among different levels of government in the provision of digital educational services

Researcher Luis Kubota, a planning and research technician at the Center for Research in Science, Technology and Society at the Institute for Applied Economic Research, was one of the guests on ForumFedCast, a podcast by the Forum of Federations, an international organization based in Canada that gathers and shares comparative knowledge on federalism and decentralized governance through a global network of experts.

In the interview, conducted by Jamie Thomas and Liam Whittington, Kubota discussed Brazil’s advances in the digitalization of public services and highlighted the importance of coordination among different levels of government in delivering digital education services.

The conversation was based on the chapter “Federalism in Brazil: Digital Governance and the Case of Education,” written by Kubota in co-authorship with Daniel Pitangueira de Avelino, also from Ipea, and Beatriz Burattini, from the Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Brazil and Lusophone Africa (FGV Clear). The chapter appears in the book The Forum of Federations Handbook on Digitalization in Public Administration of Federal Countries.
