AN HETERODOX INTERPRETATION
Abstract
This article discusses the link between economic growth and economic policy regimes in the Russian Federation since its creation in late 1991. The central features of the period of prolonged recession of the Russian economy between 1992 and 1998 are analyzed. This paper also studies the nationalist recovery of the Russian economy between 1998 and 2008, showing how the change of economic policy regime was the centerpiece for the renewed growth. Finally, the impact of the global crisis of 2008 on the Russian economy is briefly discussed.
