LA SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATION ON AGRICULTURE BETWEEN ARGENTINA AND SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA
A HISTORY THAT HAS JUST BEGUN
Abstract
During the last decade, Argentina has been a dynamic actor of the South-South cooperation. The actions have been driven mostly to Latin America, but the engagements with Asia and Africa have also been promoted. This paper aims to analyze the Argentine South-South cooperation on agricultural development with Sub-Saharan countries from 2003 to 2013, period in which the role of the Argentine Fund for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (FO.AR) and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (Inta) is remarkable. The Argentine cooperation has been established in a framework of diplomatic and political rapprochement to the African region and in a context of global discussions about the present international cooperation regime and about the strategies to increase crop production and productivity.
