Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article is in .docx or .doc (MS Office Word) format. Images are in high resolution (at least 300 dpi).
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The article does not exceed 10,000 words - considering all the elements of the article. It is formatted in A4 paper (29.7 x 21 cm), single space, Times New Roman font, body 12, top and left margins with 3 cm and bottom and right with 2 cm, justified.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Up to five codes were informed in the classification system of the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) - available at https://www.aeaweb.org/jel/jel_class_system.php , containing a letter and a number.
  • The abstracts and keywords are in three languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Author Guidelines

• Articles sent for selection must be unpublished. The submission of the article to the Journal implies authorization for its publication by the author and immediate acceptance of the publication rules.
• Articles can be submitted in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
• Revista PPP reserves the right to refuse papers submitted for publication according to the evaluation of its reviewers. All submitted papers will be evaluated by two reviewers in the evaluation process. In case of divergence between the first two reviewers, the article will be forwarded to a third reviewer.
• In the case of articles selected for publication, authors must send an edited version of them in Word (.doc or .docx). Articles must be submitted through the journal's website.
• Each article must contain a summary of about 200 (two hundred) words, which provides a global and anticipated view of the subject matter. The abstract must be sent in 3 (three) languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish. Each abstract must contain up to 5 (five) keywords, accompanying each one of the abstracts, in 3 (three) languages.
• Mathematical formulas must be clear and inserted in the text itself: they can never give rise to a double interpretation. If formula deductions are abbreviated, the author must present the complete derivation in an appendix.

Articles

  • Submitted articles must be anonymized. That is, any reference to the authors in the document properties and in the body of the text must be removed.

  • The article should contain up to 10,000 words, including all textual elements, such as titles, subtitles, and captions for tables, charts, and other illustrations. It should be formatted on A4 paper (29.7 x 21 cm), single-spaced, using Times New Roman font, size 12, with 3 cm margins on the top and left, and 2 cm margins on the bottom and right, justified alignment.

  • Each article must include an abstract of approximately 200 words, providing a global and preliminary view of the subject addressed. The abstract must be submitted in three languages: Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Each abstract should contain up to five keywords, accompanying each of the abstracts in the three languages.

  • Up to three codes from the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classification system must be provided – available at https://www.aeaweb.org/jel/jel_class_system.php.

  • Data charts should be edited in Microsoft Excel, version 2010 or later. In the case of charts, editing can also be done using other software, as long as it is editable by the authors and provided in its final format in good quality for publication. Maps and images should be provided in a separate file with the following extensions: CDR, BMP, TIF, JPG, or EPS.

  • Footnotes should appear at the bottom of the page, numbered sequentially.

  • The article must follow the standards established by ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, NBR-6023).

  • Bibliographic references within the text should follow the format (BARAT, 1978), and if applicable, include a reference to the cited page number: (BARAT, 1978, p. 15). The author should clearly indicate, when citing a work, which part of the text it refers to, so that the reader knows exactly what is the contribution of the article's author and what is the contribution from the literature.

  • Complete references should be presented at the end of the article, in alphabetical order. For example: for books – author(s), full title of the book, name and number of the series or collection (if applicable), edition, place, publisher, and year of publication; for journal articles – author(s), full title of the article, full title of the journal, place, number and volume, page numbers, month and year of publication; for theses and dissertations – surname, title: subtitle, year of presentation or defense, type of publication (master's thesis or dissertation), institution, place, year of publication.

  • The submission must be original and unpublished, meaning it has not been previously published in another journal, nor simultaneously submitted to another journal, not published in a book or collection, and must not contain plagiarism. If the submission is based on work previously published as a Discussion Paper (TD) or similar, or if it was presented at a scientific event, or if it is based on a defended master's dissertation or doctoral thesis, a note must be included for the editors, providing full details of the event, the TD, or the dissertation/thesis. The article must have distinct writing from the TD or dissertation/thesis; otherwise, it will be considered plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

  • The main author and co-authors' details must be properly provided, including full name, affiliated institution, and contact email within the system. No identification should appear in the article itself.
