Abstract

In this work, some basic concepts of public policy analysis are discussed, highlighting the contributions of the approaches of "neo-institutionalism" and "analysis of political styles" to the field of investigation of political science. Analyzing the implications of this approach for the political-administrative reality of developing countries, particularly Brazil, characterized by unconsolidated democracies, the text concludes that the socioeconomic peculiarities and policies of developing societies cannot be treated only as institutional factors. and specific procedures, but an adaptation of the policy analysis toolkit is needed
